Acne vulgaris is a
disorder characterized by pimples. Caused
by the increase in sebum release from
the sebaceous glands of the skin, it usually
affects teenagers and young adults. The
condition is associated with infection
and blockage of secretions from the skin
(sebaceous) glands. Most often the pimples
appear on the face, neck, chest, shoulder
and upper portion of the back.
Root Causes
Irregular hours of eating, excessive
consumption of starch, sugar, fried
& fatty foods.
Toxins (ama), formed due improper
movement of bowels, finding their way
into the blood stream.
Unhygienic living habits.
Excessive intake of tea, coffee, alcohol
or tobacco.
Symptoms
Comedones - Enlarged,
plugged hair follicles. If the comedone
is under the skin, it's a whitehead.
If it breaks the surface of the skin,
it's a blackhead.
Whitehead - Whiteheads
are clogged hair follicles that contain
oil (sebum) and look white.
Blackhead - Blackheads
are clogged hair follicles that contain
both oil (sebum) and tightly packed
skin cells. Although blackheads look
black, they do not contain dirt.
Pimples - Inflamed
pus-filled lesions that are red at the
base. Pimples look red and often are
raised above the level of the skin.
Cystic acne - One
of the most severe forms of acne, cystic
acne occurs when the infected contents
of a pustule or pimple erupts beneath
the skin, rather than on the surface.
