| Description |
| Cervical spondylosis
is a disorder caused by abnormal wear on
the cartilage and bones of the neck (cervical
vertebrae) with degeneration and mineral
deposits in the cushions between the vertebrae
(cervical disks). |
| Root Causes |
- Injury: Cervical
Spondylosis can be caused by previous
injury, repeated fractures or dislocations
of the joint of the neck. These cause
abnormal tear of joints, ligaments and
the structures surrounding the joints.
- Bad posture: Incorrect
posture such as the head is held forwards
from the natural positions, the shoulders
are held up and forward, the chest is
bent and rounded, the hips, knees and
ankles are bent adapted by habit or
due to poor skeletal set up in the neck
predisposes abnormal tear of the neck
joints.
- Occupational Strain: The physical discomfort, which arises
through an occupation is occupational
stress. The physical strain, intensity
of work and duration of working hours
all constitutes the occupational strain.
- Life Style: The
various style of activity adapted in
daily life can cause strain or tear
of the structures of the neck and lead
to cervical spondylosis. An example
is awkward positions adapted while sleeping.
- Body type: Thick
necks with hump at the back, long backs
are more prone to cause strain or tear
of the neck tisues.

|
| Precautions |
- Maintain a good daily fluid intake
- at least 1.5 - 2 litres of water per
day.
- If you are prone to cystitis, empty
your bladder fully before bedtime and
immediately after intercourse.
- Research has shown that drinking
300 ml of cranberry juice per day reduces
your risk of cystitis by 50%. Alternatively,
take cranberry extracts in a capsule
form.
- Avoid constipation - constipation
reduces the bladder's ability to empty.
- Dandelion supplement acts as a powerful
diuretic, ensuring that infecting bacteria
are passed out of the body before they
can cause an inflammatory reaction.
The supplement has been shown to be
effective in preventing recurrent cystitis,
but always ensure you are maintaining
good fluid intake per day.
