BOILS
Description
Boil or furuncle is a skin disease caused by the inflammation of hair follicles, thus resulting in the localized accumulation of pus and dead tissues. Individual boils can cluster together and form an interconnected network of boils called carbuncles. In severe cases, boils may develop to form abscesses.
Root Causes
  • There are many causes of boils. Some boils can be caused by an ingrown hair. Some are caused when a localized infection causes pus and infected material to collect in the skin or subcutaneous tissue. Others, such as those of acne, are caused by plugged sweat glands that become infected. Skin abscesses may follow a bacterial infection, commonly an infection with bacteria called staphylococcus.
  • One of the major factors that can be held responsible for the development of boils are staphylococcus germs that make their entry into the body through sweat glands.
  • When the blood becomes toxic owing to faulty living style and dietic errors, it tends to give rise to boils.

Symptoms
  • Small firm tender red nodule in skin (early)
  • Fluctuant nodule (later)

  • Tender, mildly to moderately painful

  • May develop white or yellow centers (pustules)

Home Remedies
  • Apply the juice of onion or garlic on the boils, as it helps in evacuating the pus.
  • For boils filled with blood, bitter gourd acts as the perfect boils home remedy treatment. Take 1 cup juice of bitter gourd and add 1 tsp limejuice to it. Consume this mixture empty stomach in the morning on a daily basis for a couple of months and see the magical results.
  • Milk cream is considered valuable in the treatment of boils. Take 1 teaspoon of milk cream and add ½ tsp vinegar and a pinch of turmeric powder to it. Apply it on the blood filled boils.
  • Cumin seeds are beneficial in healing the boils. Grind the seeds in water so as to form a paste and then apply on the boil-affected area.
