Description:

The root has antispasmodic, diuretic, tonic, emmenagogue, deobstruent, laxative, carminative, nervine, sedative, analgesic and stimulant properties. It promotes hair growth and imparts a black colour to the hair. It is a tonic for the heart, liver and brain. It counteracts the effect of mental stress and anxiety disorders by its tranquillising action. It promotes appetite and digestion and brings forth a significant reduction in hyperactive children. Also removes stone in kidney and is useful in jaundice.

The oil possesses antiarrhythmic and hypnotic activity.
